VDAY celebrated 10 years on Valentine’s Day 2008. I was thrilled – though exhausted! – to attend the anniversary gala during a whirlwind trip to New York City. In 1998, Eve Ensler used the energy and funds generated by her play The Vagina Monologues to begin V-DAY, a global movement to end violence against women and girls. I have been working with V-DAY since 2001 designing invitations, postcards, posters, ads, brochures, banners, and booklets. During that same time Eve Ensler has opened a school in Kenya, marched in Mexico, toured India, facilitated workshops in the Middle East, launched a community festival in New York City and organized an upcoming two-day anniversary celebration of healing in New Orleans starring Oprah. And yet I think I’M tired?!

February 2008 marks my one year of designing the WXXI television and radio guide! I was thrilled to be hired for the job initially and even more pleased with the opportunity to redesign the guide several months later. Eight pages and a second color were added in October 2007 and the guide has been icy blue, electric green, and dreamy lavender ever since. Review the full year of covers below (click on a thumbnail to enlarge) and stay tuned for more!
